Grand Theft Auto 4

Postby Xero » Fri Mar 02, 2007 8:26 am

Just got an email from Rockstar....

Trailer coming 03.29.07.

Does anyone even really care about this franchise anymore?

The game style is beyond stale, but I'm looking forward to seeing what they can improve on other than the graphics.

I liked vice city, it was just funny to see the over the top 80's feel. I like the property. On the toerh hand I really didnt think san andreas was anything special. A huge pain to get around. You where demote to a bitch again and basically doing jobs for everyone else. I would rather have seen more detail and less size. To me the vegas type setting could have been awesome if it was a lot more detailed. I am nto excited, but I am curious about the game.

I think it has potential. I really liked Bully, I thought ti was a great game, so I am thinking they can actually do something decent with this series. But yes in the end I totally agree stale is the best word for this franchise currently

Only good thing about the 4th one was that the map was huge and the soundtrack was solid.

But I think Vice City takes the cake.

Yeah. I enjoyed the slightly better graphics (and I mean that very, very loosely), the more modern-day car selection, and feeling like you're in a 90's ghetto .. but a white dude can only take so much of that, in-game or not. Seriously.

Vice City did everything right that GTA3 didn't. They didn't improve on too much in San Andreas, but SA was still an entertaining game -- well, what I had played of it. I don't think I even came close to finishing it, as I stopped playing Vice City towards the end. Thank you, NCAA Football, for stealing my attention.

Looks like the xbox 360 version will have exclusive downloadable content.

Two Exclusive GTA4 "Episodes" Coming to 360 Live

Grand Theft Auto IV maybe coming to the Xbox 360 and PS3 at the same time, but Microsoft managed to finagle some interesting exclusive content in the way of downloadable add-on chapters for the game.

I had heard rumors months ago about Rockstar getting into episodic content, but thought at the time it was for the Playstation Portable. It never dawned on me it might be for the Xbox 360.

According to the X06 announcement today, the content will become available "months" after the launch of the full game. Each will include "hours of entirely new gameplay" and both will be exclusive to the Xbox 360 via Xbox Live.

The full game hits North American on Oct. 16 and Europe on Oct. 19. No release date or price has been announced yet for the episodes.

Yeah, that's old news. Microsoft's also gonna be charging out the asshole for the extra content to cover the $50 mil they laid down to secure exclusivity.

Less cutscenes, more HUD.

When the first trailer came out, the graphics looked pretty sweet, but a year later, they look like the same shit we're used to seeing from GTA.
