I keep hearing it's August. I guess I could just buy that bundle, not open it, and then wait and see if a better deal comes out in August. I wonder what Best Buy's return policy is. That same article also talks about a PS3 Slim.

It's available now actually. It makes me very tempted to get it, especially knowing that sony might only make their price drop around $50 bucks.

Laird, what are some good lesser known exclusives for the PS3? I'm thinking of selling my Wii and picking up a PS3. I'm still going to have a 360 and I will probably pick up all multiplatform games for the 360 so I'm just looking for PS3 exclusives.

I'll probably pick up the bundle with MGS4 and Killzone 2 if I do get the PS3. I'll also probably pick up Infamous and LBP. Is there still a big community for Warhawk? Is there any reason to get Resistance 2 if I have Killzone 2? I'm sure you'll suggest Uncharted and Ratchet and Clank. I may pick up Uncharted if I can get it for cheap and I don't really care for Ratchet and Clank.

I think the 360 is better overall. You do pay $5 a month for the Live service, but the community and your friends are a lot more accessible. If you're into shooters there's a strong likelihood that one of Gears of War, Halo or Call of Duty will float your boat. Even if you're more into RPGs, the 360 has exclusives like Mass Effect, Lost Odyssey, and eventually FF13 which'll be multi-plat. I'm one of the handfull here that has both a 360 and ps3, and from my experience with both I think the 360 is a better overall experience with a much stronger library of games.

360 definitely has the stronger library of games and a stronger online community.

Also as for paying for xbox live, you can find deals on a 13 month xbox live subscription card all over the place for $29.99. So paying for online service is about $2.30 a month. Not bad considering all the shit you have access to via xbox live.

So I got that PS3 package with Killzone 2 and MGS4. Who else here has a PS3 network account?

I guess you weren't paying attention when everyone said the 360 was the best new system. What made you go with the ps3?

You really should have gotten a 360. I got a PS3 not even a month ago and I really don't even play it anymore. For the most part, I only play my 360 now. Everything about the 360 is better.

It was a good deal plus I didn't want to deal with the 360's meltdowns.

Meh. 360s exclusives aren't as hot as you guys think. Just taking a look at GameRanking's listings:

90%+
360 - 4
PS3 - 3

85%+
360 - 11
PS3 - 11

80%+
360 - 22
PS3 - 19

and if you've got a decent computer, the 360 falls way, way behind. Live is a big plus for 360, but the games argument just falls flat, especially when the PS3 comes bundled with the best game ever made and Killzone 2.

PS3 comes bundled with Super Mario Kart now? I'm in for 2.

Laird, does your list consist of completely exclusive games or just console exclusives. All I care about is console exclusives because I don't own a gaming PC.

Games aren't the only reason I like my 360 much better than my PS3. All of my friends have a 360 so it makes playing online so much better than the PS3. The interface for the 360 is so much better than the PS3. Also, I love achievements. Trophies just don't have nearly the same feel as achievements.

Those are console exclusive games, hence:

Saying that trophies feel different from achievements seems like fanboy nonsense to me, considering that they're the same damn thing.

Not really. First of all, every game on the 360 has achievements. I don't have to do any research about getting a game with achievements when I pick up a 360 game. Also, the 360 has web sites that can track how rare your achievements are (www.trueachievements.com). The PS3 has no such thing.

Eh, really? You'll play a game you don't really want to play, just for the achievements?
