NL Central Thread

Does anybody still doubt that the reds are going to be the real deal this year?

I don't get it. People don't like the Cardinals?

I don't particularly care for them, but I don't really dislike them either. In fact, they are one of the biggest "meh" franchises for me in all of sports.

Yeah, I don't care other than vaguely knowing they've won a bunch of championships. All that really comes down to is people who wanted to see the Nats do something great - but with the Strasburg stuff, even that was a little more muted than usual.

I've never really cared one way or another about the Cardinals. I do know a lot of people who don't like them though and it's mainly because the media (and a lot of Cardinal fans now) portrayal of them being the best fans in baseball.
Some people are like slinkies. They may not be good for much, but you smile when you push them down a flight of stairs.

Well, to be fair, and present company excluded, they do have the best fans in baseball.

This was the game the Cardinals wanted. Next two pitching matchups will favor Giants and they're at home. We definitely let them back into the series tonight.

Agreed...I didn't think the series would get back to SF...crazy.

Guh... well I guess it's going to come down to beating Cain again to get into the WS. Can't say I feel great about that.

So basically we have the team that can't lose an elimination game against the other team that can't lose an elimination game...in a Game 7. Pity I have work tonight.

Frankly, I'm scared shitless of the game tonight. You only have so much magic and I think ours has ran out.
The only thing I have to do is stay black and die.

I'm totally at peace right now. In my mind, we've already lost. It's done. We blew our two best chances and now all we're left with is a game where we're sizable underdogs. Yeah, we may be able to pull off a win, but I'm not expecting it.

It also helps that we won last year and have an absurd farm system that'll keep sending us back to the playoffs year after year for the foreseeable future.

Side note: I'm really, really rooting for Matt Holliday tonight. I'm so sick of seeing the so-called "Best Fans in Baseball" take any opportunity to bash Holliday. He's been one of our best and most-consistent bats over the last few years and a total bargain at that. The only thing Cardinals fans seem to remember is that one play vs the Dodgers in 2009. One error doesn't outweigh three and a half years of All-Star production.

Can anyone tell me why the Giants fans boo Beltran? I'm pretty sure they didn't even try to re-sign him.
